Who is the service for?

Anyone importing goods to Sweden from countries outside the EU — private individuals, small businesses, and growing importers. It's particularly valuable if you want to know what an import will actually cost before placing the order, or need to track rule changes that only large companies typically monitor.

What types of goods are covered?

Accepted Answer

Most standard imports to Sweden. Monitoring covers duty rates, quotas, and document requirements; the calculator handles duty, VAT, national charges like energy and CO2 tax, and anti-dumping duties. Exceptions include alcohol and tobacco, weapons and ammunition, and goods requiring special permits — for these we recommend contacting a professional customs broker.

Do I still need a customs broker?

Tullklar is an import platform, not a customs broker. The core is continuous monitoring of duty rates, quotas and document requirements, plus landed-cost calculation for your invoices. You can also generate a pre-filled Tullverket PDF when you actually declare. For complex setups like customs warehousing, inward processing, transit procedures or ATA carnets, a customs broker is still the right choice, and we complement rather than replace that role.

What languages is the service available in?

The service is available in Swedish, English, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese, Thai, Persian, Vietnamese, and Polish. You can easily switch languages using the language selector in the menu. Invoice analysis works regardless of what language the invoice is written in.

How long does it take to create a declaration?

Accepted Answer

Most users can create a complete customs declaration in 5-10 minutes. Upload your invoice, review the suggestions, confirm the details, and download your completed PDF. The longest time is usually spent reviewing and possibly adjusting the HS codes.

What documents do I need?

Accepted Answer

You need your commercial invoice from the supplier. The invoice should contain information about seller, buyer, goods description, quantities, prices, and shipping terms. If you have a bill of lading or packing lists, they can also be helpful, but are not necessary.

How does the HS code classification work?

We analyze the goods descriptions on your invoice and compare them against the TARIC database with over 15,000 commodity codes. You receive ranked suggestions with explanations, but you always choose the final code yourself.

Can I check the duty on a product without uploading an invoice?

Yes, through Varukoll. Type a product description or paste a TARIC code, pick the country of origin, and get the full duty picture in seconds: base duty rate, any anti-dumping, quota status, certificate requirements, and national charges. Signed-in members get one free lookup per day, Pro subscribers use Varukoll without limits.

Can I edit the details after analysis?

Yes, absolutely! You get suggestions as a starting point, but can edit all fields – importer, exporter, goods descriptions, quantities, prices, and HS codes. You can also add or remove goods items before generating the PDF.

What happens after I download the PDF?

Accepted Answer

You receive a pre-filled PDF of the official Tullverket form. You can then submit the declaration via Tullverket's e-services or in paper form. We do not submit the declaration for you – you retain full control. PDF generation is one of several tools in the platform; monitoring and the Tullkoll audit run independently whether or not you download a declaration.

How does the quota management work?

We fetch daily updates on tariff quotas from the EU's TARIC database. If you track an HS code with an active quota, you see quota status, consumption level, and risk of the quota closing. This helps you plan imports to take advantage of preferential duty rates.

How are national charges (punktskatter) handled?

Accepted Answer

The service automatically identifies and calculates Swedish national charges — such as energy tax, CO2 tax, and sulphur tax — for applicable goods like fuels and oils. These charges appear in the tax breakdown and on the PDF in box 47 with the correct tax codes. Certificate-based exemptions are also supported.

How does anti-dumping duty handling work?

The service detects anti-dumping and countervailing duties based on the HS code and country of origin. If company-specific duty rates exist, you can select your specific company code to get the correct rate instead of the standard residual duty.

What are Meursing codes and how are they handled?

Accepted Answer

For certain processed food products (typically chapters 17–21), the EU requires an additional code based on the product's composition — sugar, starch, milk fat, and milk protein content. The service guides you through entering these percentages and automatically resolves the correct Meursing additional code.

How is my data protected?

All data is transferred with TLS encryption and stored securely on servers within the EU. We use modern security practices including encrypted databases, secure authentication, and regular security audits. Uploaded invoices are stored in encrypted form.

Do you share my data with anyone?

No, we never share your business information with third parties without your explicit consent. We use your invoices and declarations only to provide the service. Payments are handled securely via Stripe without us seeing your card details.

Who is legally responsible for the declaration?

You as the importer are always legally responsible for the accuracy of your customs declaration. Our service is a tool – we assist, but you make the final decisions and confirm that the details are correct before submitting to Tullverket.

Are the HS code suggestions legally binding?

Accepted Answer

No, our HS code suggestions are just suggestions based on automatic analysis. They are not legally binding and do not replace a binding classification decision from Tullverket. For goods where classification is uncertain, we recommend applying for such a decision.

How long do you keep my declarations?

We keep your declarations and associated documents as long as you have an active account. You can download or delete your declarations at any time. When you delete your account, all your data is deleted within 30 days in accordance with GDPR.

What does the service cost?

495 SEK/month, a single plan. It includes unlimited declarations, continuous tracking of duty rates, quotas, and document requirements, semantic TARIC search, and Tullkoll audit. No commitment, no overage fees.

Is VAT included in the price?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the 495 SEK/month includes 25% Swedish VAT. The price you see is the price you pay. On invoices and receipts, the VAT amount is specified separately.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all common credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via our payment partner Stripe. The subscription amount is charged automatically every month.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel at any time via your account. Your subscription continues until the end of the current billing period, and you have full access until then. No commitment period or notice period.
